A wedding like I've never seen before...

I say all the time about how every wedding is unique -- and they are -- but this one was super unique. Most people have heard of self-uniting marriages, but I had never heard of a Quaker-style wedding. Honestly, if I tried explaining it in this post I would probably butcher it and it would be way too long so just take my word for it: it was pretty neat.

Their wedding took place at Grayce Gardens here in our hometown of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Despite the years that I've been doing weddings, this was my first wedding here and it is one of my new favorite venues!

Some of my favorite images from throughout the day...

As you'll see in these photos, the ceremony wasn't the only thing unique about Hannah and Amrit's special day. Hannah and her family are originally from here in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Amrit was born in Punjab, India. You'll see some amazing dresses from Amrit's family, but brace yourself for Hannah's dress, as it was hand-painted with all of those designs! Easily one of the most beautiful, unique wedding dresses I have ever seen.

Speaking of hand-painted, their marriage certificate was also custom made by a friend of theirs, At the end of their ceremony, all of their wedding guests surrounded them and laid hands on them in prayer. After the ceremony, they enjoyed a beautiful reception inside of Grayce Gardens, and a great party on the lawn!

The party continued the next day...

During Hannah and Amrit's first consult with me, they told me that they want all the usual wedding photos, but that most important to them was photos of the people that they care most about: the family and friends they invited to their wedding day. I immediately knew we were going to get along just fine! To emphasize how important these people are to them, they continued the party into the next day at Hannah's family's house in Chambersburg, where they put on "The Wedding Games"...
